THE STAGE

The Stage is a £750m mixed-use development in Shoreditch on the site of Shakespeare’s former Curtain Theatre. The development will consist of a 37 storey tower, shops, restaurants and office buildings. There will be 275,000 sq ft of office space, 412 apartments for private sale and 400,000 sq ft of mixed-use space.

76 Upper Ground

76 Southbank was built as the marketing centre for IBM in 1983. Designed by Sir Denys Lasdun, it is now Grade II listed.  

Over the next 18 months, Multiplex will remodel, extend and refurbish the building for offices, with 80% of the existing structure preserved. The transformation has been designed by AHMM.

The development will have 50,000 sq ft of outdoor terraces, providing occupants with panoramic river views, and will incorporate biophilic landscaping. It has been designed with a double-height entrance lobby and centrepiece staircase serving as a visual focal point.

The building was first occupied by the Civil Aviation Authority and will now be brought back to life with an extensive redevelopment to deliver a highly sustainable, smart building designed to BREEAM Outstanding.  

Squire and Partners has led the redesign of the buildings which will include the construction of two new floors of office accommodation on top of the existing 15 storey tower, a top floor extension to the interconnected eight storey block and reconfiguration of the internal cores and basement levels.

The new development is part of the organisation’s ambitious vision to provide 3,200 homes for older people across the UK in the next seven years.

The 1.59-acre site in Chelmsford is part of the masterplan joint venture, Beaulieu, between Countryside Properties and L&Q to create over 3,600 homes and amenities.

Hill anticipates that for this project, over 5% of their workforce will consist of apprentices, helping to provide employment opportunities to the talent of tomorrow.
